I was very unfortunate to work for a complete a-hole of a man. First
off, he had TERRIBLE breath and he insisted in speaking very close to
the members on the team. He worked for the same company for a long
time, but had NO CLUE of what was going on.
For example, this particular time, we had a conference call with the
CIO of a HUGE company. He asked the gentleman what his most critical
initiative was and he replied “Cloud Computing”. He then proceeded to
ask general “I want to sell you something” questions that made no sense.
Of course the CIO caught on to that, hung up the phone and I got
written up for losing an important account.
If you asked him a procedural question, he would talk for about a
whole hour about everything BUT what you asked about and at the end
of every sentence he would ask “Does that make sense?” One day
I finally had enough and said “No, it doesn’t.” I had to leave the
company after that because he made my life a living hell.
Oh, mr. bad-breath-does-that-make-sense also had a drinking problem.
We had a team outing and he got completely sloshed and crashed our
rental boat onto a pier almost hurting one of the team members.

why the fuck would you let him drive a boat if he was drinking? dumbass
Why would Chewbacca, a Wookie from the planet Kashykk, live on Endor. Does that make sense? No, ladies and gentlemen of the supposed jury, that does NOT MAKE SENSE!
OH NO!!!! A close talker!!!
It seems as if your biggest complaint is his bad breath and his catchphrase.
I think you shouldn’t have worked for such a dumbass for so long. Does that make sense?
I’m sorry, I had to laugh…he ALMOST hurt someone? So no one was acutally hurt?
Also, even I don’t understand the 2nd paragraph…you got written up because HE said “cloud computing”, whatever that is, and asked “general ‘I want to sell you something’ questions”…how do you ask “I want to sell you something” questions?
Humph…
Also going to point out, ONE night of witnessing him getting drunk doesn’t equal a drinking problem unless you think that anyone who gets drunk occasionally to have a drinking problem. If there had been several examples of him drinking large amounts of alcohol, then maybe you’d have an argument for a drinking problem, but not with just one.
And I agree with kk. Why did anyone let him drive the boat if he was so obviously very far from sober?
@ KK and Pixie – Maybe, just maybe, they let him drive the boat because he was the boss. Ever try to tell your boss, “No, you’re drunk. I’ll drive”? It can be a long walk (or swim) back to the dock.
Some companies call it “Blue Sky”, others “Cloud Computing”. It’s programing written to pick up random idiosyntric items in a data base. Bank auditors use this type of thing a LOT to catch embezzlement, so it would make perfect sense for the CEO of a “huge” company (presumably with many branches) to think it was important.
And if you have never hade somebody stand so close to you that all you can see is their nose hairs, you are fortunate. It’s annoying as the dickens, and makes you cross-eyed to boot. (In fact, that was how a broke one man of doing it to me; I’d go completely cross-eyed on him. He finally backed off.)
WOW! Sounds to me as if this guy is a real huge tool. I hope you didn’t “let” him drive the boat, but if the case is that he is such a prick, you may not have had a choice. I know how those types can be…
Lady Anne, that’s not what ‘cloud computing’ is.
