For the past few months, I have been working at a large chain of
grocery stores. Every day I have been scheduled; I arrive half an
hour early just in case they need me on the floor beforehand, have
never called in sick and get along with most of my coworkers.
My bosses are a pain. I have five bosses above me and only three
really like me. My supervisor absolutely hates me because I was
upstairs one day after clocking out (we have to clock out within two
minutes before or after our shifts of we have to be overrided)and was
getting changed in the washroom (I am a female, by the way). Suddenly,
I heard the door open and my MALE boss enters the washroom, screaming
at me about clocking out a minute before my shift was supposed to be
over. I polietly asked him to give me a moment to finish changing and
we could talk about it, but he insisted that we talk about in the
washroom. He called me a coward for not wanting to come out of the
stall I was in, told me I was “Stealing time the company doesn’t
have” and went on a long, five minute rant about learning how to
clock in and out.
When I finally exited the stall, he was still there, waiting for me.
I could have screamed at him for invading the women’s washroom, which
I believe we all learned in preschool not to do, I could have screamed
at him about how I had been spat on by customers, had my foot ran over
by a womans wheelchair, screamed at him about how the other supervisor
wrote me up for “Not cleaning up properly” when I was new to the
department I had been transfered too, but I didn’t. He looked me dead
in the eyes and asked me what I thought would happen.
“I quit” came from my mouth. I should have told him to shove it and
called the store manager (Who was right down the hallway in his
office) about how he had invaded the womans washroom.

I think you should have opened your shirt a little and gotten it untucked slightly, and started screaming rape at the top of your lungs.
Bosses like that need to be put in their place for shit like that.
Wow! That took some guts for him to do. Yeah you should have clocked out on time and not before, unless you were told you could, but a man to enter the women’s restroom while you were getting dressed could have ended badly for him. He should understand, as a manager, that that can be viewed as sexual harrassment.
What a pig!
I was under the impression that a boss could not reprimand you off the clock anyways. Maybe you should have walked past him, walked back upstairs, clocked back in, and then let him know he could shout at you because it is now company time.
Bummer you quit. He won that round and didn’t learn that he was way out of line for entering the women’s restroom.
We have a 2 minute grace period we can sign in and out, and I had signed in early like I always do and if you miss your grace period, you have to be punched out (signed out) by a manager. I had gotten upstairs just as my two minute grace was ending, So I wasn’t clocking out Early at all.
I heard thru the grapevine that He was fired for sexual harassment of Coworkers and customers, coming to work High and drunk and threatening the store manager.
I heard he’s working as a cashier at the foot locker in the mall.
They called me about a week ago asking if I would come back, and since he was gone, I agreed.
He probably just wanted to see you naked. Maybe he thought you being a subordinate would give him a better chance for some playtime.
Regardless of what happened, yeeeaaaaa’s response is disgusting. No person, man or woman should ever be accused of rape if they didn’t do it. Just because he is a pig is no reason to lock him up for 25 yrs.
@Lilcrzn
for one minute? She clocked out one F#### minute before the end of her shift! That’s a non issue. Anybody losing time to enforce this is a moron, period.
Well, at least, since The Author said that he was fires and she was reinstated, justice did prevail!
OK… As a guy who spaces out on things from time to time, I can imagine following a female employee into the bathroom while reprimanding her… but to STAY after she points it out… that is DEFINITELY grounds for a sexual harassment claim.
As a former employee of a major national grocery chain, I know that you were totally in the right… EVEN IF you were those two minutes early… After my experience, I would have expected him to be mad because you clocked out LATE!
You REALLY should have gone to get the manager… it might have saved some other poor young ladies from being harassed before he could be turned in.
@VoiceOfReason….I doubt yeaaaaaaaaa’s response was serious…just a little humor. Geez…
