Reduce The Craziness

Our group was fairly informal in setting and dress, but always very
professional in demeanor. I was surprised then when during a status
meeting with me, my boss announced that she would be out for a week
because she was having breast reduction surgery.

I’m a pretty laid back guy, so I rolled with it and tried to steer
the conversation back to our business at hand. She persisted,
however, sharing details of the surgery including how it would be
done and – this is the best part – DREW WHERE THE INCISIONS WOULD BE
MADE ON HER BREASTS. In my office. With the door open.

I’m pretty sure she had borderline personality disorder and was
unmedicated. Working for her was like working in a really mean, scary
fun house.

  1. Should have offered to do it for her with a paper cutter right there in your office. Tell her you accept Blue Cross/Blue Shield.

  17. The boss sexually harassed the employee.
It sounds like she had her eye on him and utilized the opportunity.

  25. What does her having BPD have to do with anything? Actually, most adults mature out of borderline personality disorder AND there isn’t any medication for BPD because unlike depression or bi-polar disorder, which are chemical imbalances in the brain, BPD ISN’T chemically related, it’s a PERSONALITY disorder and not treatable with any kind of medication that leaves one capable of doing anything but sitting and staring at a wall.

Don’t be ignorant. You saying that her behavior is based on a medical condition only; 1.)makes you look like a jerk and 2.) gives her an excuse for her inappropriate behavior!
